Meet Your Teacher

Welcome to an exciting journey into the world of music! As a music instructor, nothing gives me greater joy than seeing a student’s excitement to learn and participate in the creation of music. The discipline of practicing and excelling at a musical instrument yields invaluable character and brain development, enhancing later learning opportunities. Let the adventure begin!

At the age of five, I began my study of piano after my parents rather humorously observed my continual persistence to climb up on the piano bench after my older sister had finished her practice session and attempt to replicate what she had been playing. I wasn't a child prodigy but simply an eager musical soul! Through the guidance of wonderful teachers, I grew and fell in love with piano repertoire, and that love and musical knowledge enabled me to branch out into other instruments as well! Although piano was my primary focus, I added flute, violin, and voice as I continued my musical journey through high school. I competed in numerous local competitions and music festivals, all of which were enriching and continued to push me forward into what would become my vocation.

My collegiate instruction was guided by outstanding professors at Houston Baptist University and Sam Houston State University. It was through their example and passion I realized my own love of piano pedagogy and began my studio in 2005. I now teach students of all ages from beginner thru advanced levels.

Professionally, I have served as an accompanist for the surrounding school districts as well as local churches for the past fifteen plus years. This past year I was given the wonderful opportunity to work for ORHS, CPHS, KJH, DHS, as well as TWHS, accompanying for their bands, choirs, and orchestras for UIL competitions as well as private recitals.

On a personal level, I have been married to my best friend, Josh, for twelve years now, and we have been blessed with two children, who are also students in my studio!
